Oriental Cockroaches
Large and dark brown, the Oriental cockroach is one of the most common cockroaches in the United States. It is also one of the largest, with adults reaching up to 1.6 inches in length.
Females are slightly larger than males and have a broader, more oval-shaped body. Both sexes have wings, but they are useless for flight. Instead, the wings cover and protect the cockroach’s body.
They are also known as waterbugs or black beetle cockroaches because of their dark brown or black bodies.
What is the difference between a German Cockroach and an Oriental Cockroach?
The difference between a German cockroach and an Oriental cockroach is that German cockroaches are smaller, more active, and more difficult to control, while Oriental cockroaches are larger, slower, and more likely to be found in damp areas.

The nymphs emerge and go through 7-10 molts to become adults. There is usually only one generation per year, which can take over 500 days to complete. The adults live for around a year.
